I am a graduate of Fort Valley State University and currently hold a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I teach Sixth grade math at Terrell Middle School and believe that every child can learn when properly stimulated with engaging activities and information related to real-world experiences. It is the responsibility of teacher to seek vital skills and tools necessary to instruct students at high conceptual levels of learning. Students should be continually encouraged to solve problems similar to those they encounter outside of school to prepare them to productive citizens. My teaching style incorporates hand -on learning as a major teaching strategy. Incorporating a variety of instructional strategies motivates students to take risks and build self-confidence to achieve at higher levels during the instructional class period. I believe that, as teacher, it is my duty to ensure that learning takes place in a safe environment that is conducive to learning. My decision to pursue a career in teaching is due to my desire to make a positive impact on a child. I cannot think of any better way to contribute to my community.
