Academic Services

The Terrell County School System is committed to delivering a strong, student-centered education that prepares every learner for success, both in the classroom and beyond. The Division of Academic Services leads this charge by ensuring that high-quality teaching and learning take place every day, guided by Georgia’s state-adopted curriculum and instructional standards.

Our team works hand in hand with educators to implement evidence-based strategies that support student growth and academic achievement. Through ongoing professional development, collaborative planning, and curriculum support, we empower teachers to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

Recognizing that students learn in different ways and at different paces, we offer a variety of support structures designed to meet their academic needs of all learners. These include:

  • Early Intervention and Remedial Programs:

    • K–5 Early Intervention,

    • 6–12 Remedial Education

  • Dual Enrollment

  • Support Services:

    • Special Education (Pre-K – age 21)

    • Multi-tiered System of Supports for academic, behavior, and social emotional learning

    • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

    • Gifted and Talented Education Program

  • Career, Technical, Agricultural, and Education Programs

    • Computer Science,

    • Plant Science Mechanical Systems,

    • Horticulture Mechanical Systems,

    • Carpentry,

    • Law Enforcement Services/ Criminal Investigations, and

    • Business and Technology.

  • Fine Arts

  • Parent involvement coordinator on each school campus who strengthen the home-school connection

Our division also manages district and state assessments, ensuring that data is used not only to monitor student progress, but also to inform instructional improvements and strengthen professional learning.

Together, we strive to ensure that every student in the Terrell County School System is equipped with the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to succeed in school and beyond.
